Cookbook. Our new “Deliciously Healthy” cookbook has sold over 400 copies since we opened pre-sale in late March. Reviewers have given the book 4.5 out of 5 stars and one said “As the Bariatric Program Manager, trying to keep our patients on track can be challenging. These recipes offer them satisfying foods that truly are good for them. My husband had bariatric surgery in 2015, and incorporating these meals into his menu is effortless.” We want to thank everyone who has already ordered a book, or a case.
Your support allows us to continue our mission in raising awareness and funding important research, education, and access to care initiatives. To order your copy, or a case to share with your patients, please visit www.ASMBSFoundation.org/cookbook. Individual copies can be ordered for $20, and a case of 30 books for $480 (a 20% discount).
United We Step. Mark your calendars for the 3rd annual United We Step Challenge taking place on October 31st in conjunction with ObesityWeek. This year we have introduced a new feature that allows participants to turn their fundraising efforts into steps. For every penny raised we will be adding one step to the final step count.
This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of obesity and to get your patients, practice, or program involved. We encourage you to create a team and compete against your colleagues to take home the golden trophy. The team that takes the most steps (fundraising steps included) will not only get bragging rights for the year, but will also get to display the United We Step trophy in their office for one year.
