Bariatric Times Announces Discontinuation of Journal
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania, July 11, 2023—After much consideration, Matrix Medical Communications announced today that Bariatric Times will cease publication in print, effective immediately. The journal will have one final digital-only issue published in the November/December 2023 time frame and will feature all remaining articles that have been accepted via peer review.
Bariatric Times will continue to publish sponsored, custom programs moving forward, such as Spotlight on Technology and e-Newsletters. An FAQ page can be accessed here for more information regarding the announcement.
The journal was published for 20 years, launching under the helm of Founding Clinical Editor, Dr. Raul Rosenthal. He served as the Clinical Editor through the end of 2017. Dr. Christopher Still joined as the Co-clinical Editor in 2015 and served until the end of 2022, partially with Rosenthal and partially with Dr. John Morton, who succeeded Rosenthal as the surgical Co-Clinical Editor from 2018–2021. Drs. Rich Peterson and Jenny Seger served as Co-clinical Editors from 2022–2023.
“I want to thank our clinical editors, Drs. Rich Peterson and Jenny Seger, as well as all of the healthcare professionals who have written for, read, or helped BT in any capacity over the last two decades,” said Austin Vitelli, Bariatric Times Managing Editor. “I am excited to continue to lead digital projects in the obesity and bariatric surgical space.”
