Welcome to “Checklists in Bariatric Surgery.” This column’s aim is to help bariatric surgeons quickly review the reasons for potential problems when caring for bariatric patients.

This month’s Checklist focuses on vitamin deficiency after bariatric surgery. All the bariatric operations have the potential to determine vitamin deficiencies or worsen previously existing ones. Part 1 covered vitamins.Part 2 covers minerals and trace elements,which are absorbed throughout the small intestine.
